U16 (Jnr C - Division 4) Gaelic Footballers
Our U16 (Junior) footballers made it two wins from two this afternoon with an impressive performance, running out winners on a scoreline of 7-12 to 3-05 in the Prairie.
Building on their opening success, Salerno showed clear sharpness in attack and strong work rate across the field, with goals proving the difference as they pulled away in the second half.
A player of the match performance from 3rd Year, Anna Murphy, was to be noted as she contributed heavily in both the defensive and attacking zones of the pitch, easily handling her talented marker while proving a nuisance going forward. This performance coupled with strong showings from Orna Dunne, Elizabeth Mannion, Cara Cleary, Sarah Ruane and substitute Juliette Reidy ensured the girls maintained their flawless record.
This win marks the team’s second victory on the bounce, giving them plenty of momentum as they continue their campaign. Confidence is growing within the squad, and the players will now turn their attention to upcoming fixtures against Carraroe and Coláiste na Coiribe, both of which promise to be competitive encounters.
