Thursday 14 May 2026 All Girls Maths Competition Congratulations to the 16 mathematicians from 5th and 3rd year, who took part in the very first Oldham All Girls Maths Competition on Tuesday May 12th in Taylors Hill. The inauguration of this worthy competition was held in UCD to encourage the participation of more girls in maths competitions. Mrs Keenan and Ms D King, Taylors Hill, jointly organised the Galway round. This was only held in Dublin and Galway this year, but following its massive success, we are hopeful it may be rolled out nationwide next year by the Irish Maths Teachers Association (IMTA).

Tuesday 12 May 2026 Badminton All Ireland Finals Larissa Hayden and Margaritte McKeown competed in the Victor All Ireland Graded National Finals on Saturday 9th May 2026. They performed phenomenally with 5 Irish caps between them. They will now be going forward to the four nations international competition in Wales in August 2026 to represent Ireland in the events that they won.

Tuesday 24 February 2026 Parent Webinars coming up.. Neurodivergent Teens and Sleep is being delivered by Lucy Wolfe on Thursday, the 26th of February. As you know, sleep is a big problem for our teenagers generally speaking, and even more so for the more neurodivergent among them. This is a somewhat novel webinar as this specific topic hasn't been covered before.

Monday 9 February 2026 HPV Catch up for Senior Cycle Students 5th and 6th year students will be offered the HPV vaccine as part of the recently announced Laura Brennan catch up programme. This is for any student that may have missed this vaccine when it was offered in first year. As they are over the age of 16, they can provide consent for themselves. Friday 9 January 2026 Young Scientist Competition Best of luck to Kowshikaa Raj, Charvia Ranjithkumar and Ken at the final day of the Stripe Young Scientist and Technology exhibition. Their project is based on healthy eye vision. Their cutting-edge wearable is designed to combat digital eye strain by monitoring blinking frequency, screen distance, and ambient lighting to provide users with essential real-time feedback. The girls welcomed Minister of Education and Youth, Hildegarde Naughton to their stand and were also interviewed by Virgin Media News.

Monday 15 December 2025 Handball County Competition The secondary school county competition was held in Moycullen handball alley on sat 13th December.Thanks to all the girls who came and played and special thanks to Pierce Lalor for refereeing all the junior games in court 1 and Laura Cronin Doherty and Aoife Walsh who referred all the first yr games in court 2.Big thank you to Mary Walsh who kept the games running smoothly.
